We’re here with another installment of John in 60 Seconds where John has 60 seconds to answer our questions. Today, we’re going to talk about Floramite. You ready John?
Let’s do this.
What is Floramite?
Floramite is a miticide, insecticide that is mainly geared towards spider mites. You can also use it to control whiteflies.
When would I use Floramite? What’s the trigger to use it?
Like any other insecticide, miticide, you would use it as soon as you see signs of pests.
What signs of pests, specifically for Floramite, am I looking for in my garden?
Since it’s a miticide, you’re going to actually look for webbing because spider mites actually produce a webbing to protect themselves against the outside elements.
Is this product ready to use or is it more of like a concentrate?
Oh this stuff is really concentrated. You get a lot for your money. You actually use it in 4 ounces up to 8 ounces per 100 gallons so it goes a super long way but if you want to use it in a really small amount, you’re going to use 0.3 milliliters per quart.
All right, John, how about a pro tip?
Floramite is one of the items that bugs grow a tolerance to so I would always recommend using it in conjunction with another pesticide such as Avid. You would alternate them every 3 to 5 days.
