We’re here with another installment of John in 60 Seconds to discuss FloraCaps by FloraFlex. John, you got 60 seconds to answer our questions. You ready?
Let’s do this.
What are FloraCaps?
FloraCaps are caps that are covers that cover rockwool cubes 4, 6, 8 inch cubes.
Why do we even use them?
If you don’t use FloraCaps or any kind of cover, what happens is algae grows on the top and it robs the plants of nutrients and oxygen. It actually stops the algae growth on the top of the cubes.
What are the benefits of using FloraCaps?
Well, as opposed to using Coco Caps or plastic, you don’t have to take them off because they have cutouts, which allow water to pass through but not light, so it’s a lot easier to use. They’re also reusable.
How would you water through them?
Well, you can hand water with a wand or bucket or however you want to, but there’s tons of different ways to water.
Now, you’re an experienced grower and I know you’ve used these in your grow in the past, could you share with us a pro tip?
My pro tip for using these FloraCaps is to use the FloraClips that you can purchase separately in 1 quarter inch [length 00:01:06] and run an irrigation system. An irrigation system is the way to go. You no longer have to sit there and hand water each cube. Now with an irrigation system, you can run all of your watering at once and be out of there in minutes, instead of hours.
